The easiest way to view your mail on the server is with pine. This program is available from the command prompt. Just type "pine". Pine has a menu approach type interface. For basic mail handling, pine will work fine.
You can also use any compliant POP3 mail program to retrieve your mail from the server to your personal machine. If you are on windows, I would recommend Eudora for your mail program.
